This tree grows up to 40ft and spreads 15ft – 20ft. A wide spreading tree with mid to dark green leaves. White flowers are borne in erect panicles 9” -11” long in May. The flowers of A x Carnea (Red Horsechestnut) are red/pink in colour. The green fruits contain brown nuts or conkers. This tree grows in any fertile, well drained soil. It will, however, require plenty of space when mature, ie. parkland or very large lawn.
